NO.  It will NOT play a real UHD 4k DVD.  I answered this question last week, but I do not see it posted, so here is my answer again.  I bought this unit at my local Walmart last week, along with a 4k disc and discovered that this player does NOT play or read 4k discs.  It ONLY upscales Blu-ray and DVDs to near 4k.  For more detail you can see my full review, which the site says should be posted in one to two days.  To actually play a 4k disc, you need a true ultra HD 4k player.  Do your research online before purchasing to be sure you are getting one that will actually play the 4k.

This model has an HDMI output, but computer connections would require an IT based Blu-Ray drive. The exception is if your monitor has a HDMI input, and you can switch inputs on your computer monitor to play the Blu-Ray image on your screen.

Here the Community Answer says it does not play CD's. But a few questions up the same question is asked again and the Community Answer says YES it does play CD's. So which one is correct??

Awesome  product works great with my home network.

This was a Black Friday purchase for me and it is very versatile.  I no longer need an additional streaming device.  Works great.  My only problem with the unit is that I didn't read the instruction before i use the unit.  Can't blame that on the player.

Very versatile

We have had 6 other DVD players over the last 2 to 3 years and each one has broke within a year. We have only had this DVD player for about a month but it seems to be the best one yet. It offers a wide variety of options other than just watching a movie and and runs so smooth. Very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend it to a friend.

Excellent choice

Purchased this on Black Friday. Needed an upgrade from my Sony Blu Ray Player from 2009 which had trouble streaming Netflix without glitching. Easy to set up and use and automatically synced itself to my TV and soundbar. Havent really noticed a picture quality difference, but still a nice picture.

Have only had this Samsung Blu-ray Disc Player a couple of weeks so held back from giving it  5 stars but have to say it was easy to set up and use!  No problems.
