Be prepared to spend more
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I knew everything I could read about it before it was released, but was still a bit hesitant because of the high price of entry. I still think it's a bit expensive for the initial pack but not terribly so. My wife and I play the clash mode very often, which is great because she had zero interest in the game before watching me mess with it. I don't play with freestyle a whole lot, but it's fun when I do. The only downside though is the additional card packs. They're not exactly cheap, and sometimes they're hard to find. I've easily spent double the purchase price on all of the series 1-4 cards, as well as a couple of playlists. Still having fun though, still worth it! If you can grab it on sale and enjoy music I'd definitely recommend it!

Worth a look, but not at full price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PIcked this up at half price for a friend. Freestyle mode is the best part of the game. You do need to download an app in order to use it. The cards that come with the base game are pretty good but are only about a fifth of what is available at this time. Additional card packs are almost a must but don't buy them online as you may get duplicates.

Great Christmas Gift
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this for my 11 year son for Christmas. He absolutely loves it. it seems to be a lot of fun. However, I'm wondering how long he'll enjoy it before needing to buy more song packs. Also, we've had a couple of minor issues reconnecting it to his phone's bluetooth.

One Part DJ, One Part Uno, Equal Parts Fun!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The best way to describe Dropmix is by calling it Musical Uno. You have 4 colors, 3 number values and two types of wilds cards. Each card is a specific part of a song. Such as the vocals of one song, drum beat or guitar rift of another. When each card is played on the Dropmix board, you score points and that portion of the song on the card begins to play out of your connected phone or tablet. The game will start to mix parts of the various songs together to in equal tempo and rhythm. It is amazing how songs you would not think do not sound good together, will blend in and make mixes you will want to save and listen to later. (You can). The game becomes fun as you enjoy the game play and jam out while you are at it! You can buy additional non random booster packs to complete and add new songs to the 60 card base set that comes with the game. Plus, At time of this review, the game is half price! ($49.99) I highly recommend it!

Great fun to mix music
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this for kids age 5 to 11. They really enjoy playing different music. I bought the large additional music cards too. I tried to play the game once and I didn't fully understand how to play. Product is super fun in the freestyle mode. Probably not worth full price, but definitely worth getting on sale.

Great game, still needs development
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this on a complete whim - I was in-store and the colorful packaging attracted my eye, and I saw it was advertised as a game. I pulled up the reviews on my phone, and was excited by the concept. We got it out and played for about an hour, just messing around in freestyle mode. It was tons of fun, and unlike anything we had ever played before. Unfortunately, though, in the game mode, if you were to receive and open a text, or switch to another app quickly, the board would disconnect and you would have to restart your game from scratch, while also resetting the board. After we had had our fill of it for the day, we put it away. I went to play again the next day, and the board wouldn't even turn on. We did some internet searching, and found this to be a fairly common thing amongst buyers. Seeing as how it's a new game and a new concept, and that the exchange policy with Best Buy was quick and painless, it's not a HUGE deal, but definitely an inconvenience. I hope they upgrade the hardware in the future. We haven't opened the new one yet, so who knows if it'll do the same. Considering that it's app-based, I see huge potential in the future for new game modes and overall growth. The expansion packs aren't unreasonably priced, either. We purchased 5 of those and they're a lot of fun to add to the mix.

More fun than you would ever expect
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I first saw this game last Xmas season and couldn't help thinking that it was just stupid....until I started to play with the demo device in the store. Then, and only then, did I really get it...but at the time it was listed at full retail price, 100. WAYYYYYY too pricey. Then it went on sale and I went ahead and got it. My kids and I can't stop playing with it. The gaming mode is fun enough in and of itself but the creative options available with just the free-play mode is just incredible. You can lose yourself in this game for hours at a time. For the money, for any music lover out there with failed aspirations to be a DJ of any sort, this game is a must. I just hope that Harmonix keeps up with the card packs and new ones are made rather sooner than later.

SO MUCH FUN!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Painfully addicted to this game. The music mixing is great and the interactive gameplay is highly addictive. I recommend expanding the starter deck to include at least season 1 and season 2 to get the best experience. (Or go crazy and buy all 300 of Season 1 cards)

Q: QuestionWill this item be available in stores on the 21st? If you preorder online will it arrive at your house on that date?
Asked by JEFF.
- A:Answer It looks like they have changed the dates so now the game and packs will ship on or around October 6th, weeks after the September 24th release date. It's disappointing, to say the least.
Answered by Jacob
Q: QuestionWould gamers unlocked members get a discount on this product?
Asked by Nicholas.
- A:Answer As this is categorized by Best Buy as simply a "toy", no they would not. Gamers Club Unlocked members only receive the discount off of video game software and "toys to life" figures such as amiibos.

Q: QuestionWhat age group is this for?
Asked by Mel.
- A:Answer Anyone! I think it could be a really magical game for children very young, as the whole concept with putting cards on and taking them off changes the sound and mix overall. The base game's genres of music stretches to cover most age groups, as well.
