iPhone 7plus

I love using the active track. It comes in handy when I'm at carmeet and filming the cars. I show people my video at the end and they are amazed of how smooth it comes out

Very cool way to shoot pictures with your phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am on my second DJI drone, so I wanted to have the same camera stabilization when shooting with my iPhone 7+. It has many options like automatic panoramas, time lapse and delayed trigger, but the included manual is really rather poor. But the on-line tutorials and You Tube videos can fill that gap.

Gimbal that is easy to handle
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.DJI gimbals is by far the best. I have used two other gimbals from different companies the biggest difference is the balances. With DJI gimbal videos are smooth, and easy Operation. I just love my DJI.

Bought for my iPhone 6S
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The unit is well built overall. I was happy with the well it stabilize the video taking. It comes with a cloth carry case which I felt like it wasn't sturdy enough for a $300 camera tool. One problem I had was it would not stabilize with my LifeProof case on, so I had to tape over the phone detector photocell so I could leave the case on.

Cool gadget for movie enthusiast
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Definitely helps stabilize and obtain cinematic style videos. Took me a minute to understand the basics, yea I didn't read instructions and still only skimmed over them. Don't like the side mount for the connection to use an extension stick or tripod but an adapter will make it work with pretty much anything you want. The carry bag is a joke because it barely fits and you have to either adjust the arm back in every time you want to put it away or fold it just right and hold your tongue just right to zip the bag closed. I have a iPhone 7 plus, and it is adjusted almost fully open but if you have a larger phone you would have to get a different bag or adjust and balance it every time you used it. Honestly I would be more happy if it was in the 100 -150 range but the real test will be this summer when I mount it on a pole mount on my boat and see how much it reduces the shakiness of my videos filming wake-boarding. I'm hopeful that the DJI software will track the rider and eliminate my reliance on a camera operator. Maybe I'll change my mind. We shall see. Ps. I'm also disappointed that DJI app doesn't film in 4K . Had to buy a 10 app to accomplish but lost some of the DJI functionality. Come on DJI

Very good, not perfect.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works well. I suspect the stabilization software is the cause for what appears to be rather shifty video quality. It feels like I'm watching fast motion video on an old 30hz TV set - it can't keep up. The software is basic and will work for a few video edits/creations but will get redundant fast. Overall, at $300 it's expensive.

This is an amazing piece of tech for the Prosumer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this stabilizer gimbal, and I have tried a few other brands. The OSMO Mobile has more features, a better build, and a richer app experience than some of its contemporaries. The tacky rubber grip handle, the placement of the buttons, and the phone mount are a few physical attributes that standout. While there is a 1/4 screw thread on the side which can attach a phone mount? (you're already using your phone as camera!? I've gotten used to using it to side mount the OSMO, but I've also purchased the stand which makes it possible for the device to actually stand upright on its own and be mounted vertically on a tripod. Where this shines is in the connection and offerings of the DJI GO app. With active tracking, you simply draw a square around what you want the phone & gimbal combo to follow, and it does that quite fluidly & accurately from quite a distance too. The many timelapse modes, as well as several panoramic modes is a nice, easy-to-use, and usual addition. Plus, the amount of options and adjustments you can make in-app, including gimbal calibrations, and phone tweeks like changing the camera settings to manual (shutter, ISO, & WB) are nice & necessary touches too. I use an iPhone 7 Plus, and it balances & works fine (case removed). The battery life is about 6hrs with average use, and closer to 4hrs if you're using it to capture day-to-night motion timelapse. I do wish you could swap out the gimbal for another attachment that can hold a GoPro, or a small mirrorless camera, but that's probably asking too much. Also, although most people don't have 2 high end phones, I would like the option to control the phone/stabilizer combo remotely, w/the DJI GO app from another device. Instead, you have to purchase the (very useful) Filmic Pro app to do that, and a score of other tasks not available in the free DJI GO app. All in all, I truly love this device and feel I'm more than getting my monies worth. As a pro, it works an looks more like a tool, and less like a toy or trendy gadget.

Finally! Steady videos
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had no intention of buying a mobile gimbal. The only reason I did was because I haven't been able to fly my drone in NYC in ages since it was banned! So I figured having this would be be cathartic in some way. So anyways, about the Osmo Mobile. I use it exclusively on an iPhone 6 and did not have to struggle with the instructions to figure out how to use it. The pan and zoom function are quite flawless especially compared to my hands which image stabilization camera lenses have given up on. The DJI app works well with it, but I think FiLMiC Pro does a better job. My only complaints are that the Bluetooth drops out when I have my anker battery case on. And in case you haven't noticed, having your iPhone running for a continuous 30-40 mins shooting video will likely leave you with just enough power to text someone to pick you up or check the email one last time. It would have been great if they left some space where you can still attach a lightning cable to your phone. Other than that I think it's all good.

Q: QuestionWould this DJI - Osmo Mobile Gimbal Stabilizer work with a Samsung Note?
Asked by Lisa2017.
- A:Answer I'm using it with my Note 8 - and just to be a daredevil it's still in a silicone case. I did have to add a few grams of counter balance to the gimbal arm to level it but since then it's worked great.

Q: QuestionDoes this work with a Note8 ?
Asked by Steve.
- A:Answer Yes it does, I added a Rode video micro microphone and a Aputure Amaran M9 led light via DJI straight extension arm and DJI universal mount brackets, the Rode video micro plug makes it have to shift 5mm to the left so I have to add a counterweight to the circular part, if you don't use an external microphone it should be fine.

Q: QuestionCan I use a Samsung Galaxy s8 + Or is it too big and heavy to properly stabilize.
Asked by Joe.
- A:Answer As far as fitting into gimbal both s8 and s8+ work great. Osmo mobile has a file to tighten on the back so you never feel like your phone may get loose and fall. Only draw back is that depending on your phone's protective case, you may have to remove it so it fits perfectly.
