Versatile and easy to install
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like these lights!! I have the starter strip and an extension. I ran them up underneath my bar. 2 aspects of these lights that could be improved... The adhesive on the back - the strip is rolled and boxed for shipping. There is a protective peel-off paper to protect the adhesive. This peel off is cut into smaller strips (presumably to make it easier to roll). On my light strip, several of those peel off strips had separated from the adhesive coating, causing the adhesive to be less secure in many spots. Nothing a few thumbtacks couldn't fix for me, but tacks might not be a good solution for everyone... Perhaps roll the adhesive separately and let the consumer apply it themselves. Seems 3M has a double-sided adhesive strip. Also, the power cord is fairly long. I didn't need it so long, so I have a big loop of the excess cord hanging visible below my bar. I don't know if there's really any answer to that 'problem'. I guess I could get creative with a staple gun up underneath the bar... Oh, and of course, as they are applied with an adhesive backing - once they're in place you can't really adjust or reposition them, so you might take a little more time than I did figuring out what you're going to do with them before you just stick them up... Hey! I was excited!! :-) But overall, the enjoyment I'm getting from these lights far outweighs those minor annoyances. I'm going to get more!!

Fantastic Lights by Philip Hue
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I decided to create a game room with a ton of LED lights. I wanted high quality and high color output from the lights and hands down Philip Hue was the way to go. 1. Crisp colors 2. Dimmable lights 3. Easy install 4. Easy control 5. Multitudes of colors to cycle through 6. Fantastic brightness with all colors. 7. Easy to use Philip Hue app. 8. Excellent quality 9. Excellent adhesive on back and stays where a person puts them. 10. Easily controlled by smart assistants. Love that feature. All around a great product to purchase to do a wide array of projects in the house. But, without a doubt Philip Hue lights are the way to go for all the quality and the best color output. Can’t go wrong with them. Check out my pictures of what I did with my Philip Hue lights in my game room and I’m not near finished with it yet.

Easy to install
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been adding to my hue bulb collection for a couple of years. My latest project was to add strips inside my cabinets. They turned out great and I appreciate all the color options, including the many “whites”. For everyday I use a warm white, for holidays I pick colors. I do wish Phillips would sell adapters to connect pieces you cut off of one strand to add to another strand. The places to cut are 12” apart, which caused me to have to be creative in one cabinet, but they turned out great.

Love HUE
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my fifth light strip and I love them! Got this for my TV in the living room after we put up new stone over the fireplace. It’s perfect! I know one reviewer said it’s hard to get it attached to the TV because they don’t bend well but if you just twist it and don’t attach it where you’re bending the strip it works perfectly fine. We were going to get the extension to go behind the whole TV but I kind of like it not around the whole thing (we have it basically as a U with the top of the TV not covered, but I like it this way as it’s kind of subtle and not overwhelming)

HUE Lightstrip Plus Brings Music Every Hour!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As an early HUE adopter, I started with each bulb variety & the original Lightstrips. This updated Lightstrip is 10X brighter than the original! I have an unusual use for my first 2) Lightstrip Plus: I bought a wall clock that plays music with the internal Clarion System. The light sensor in this clock will not allow the sound to play, because it thinks our Family Room is too dark so it keeps it silenced! So I installed 2) strips on the back of 2) contemporary Pole Lights, so the lights are not seen from the room. They flood the walls with light, and the clock chimes beautiful music every hour! I use the HUE Alarm function to turn the Lightstrip Plus off during the night, and anytime I want silence. They are a wonderful product and work better than I could have imagined, based on comparisons with the original Lightstrip!!

Great option for smart lighting
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased these for over-cabinet accenting, I liked the fact that they can be controlled by wireless via the app, set with routines and scenes. The flexibility of colors is extensive and you can change each as you wish either by pre-programmed scenes or manually with the color palette. This came as a buy 2, get a free bridge offer, and definitely needs to have one. The bridge is a mini hub that sits off an ethernet port (make sure you have one available!) preferably near the lighting area for coverage. When setting up you can specify name/room and which scenes each light belong to (in my case this is simple, but add-ons can all have their place and function, like exteriors). The lights themselves come as a roll with back side tape (I didn't use since they are laying on the cabinets as shown in photo), and are best suited for linear runs, as they do not have a lot of lateral movement. They can be trimmed down and/or added to quite easily. The one glitch I've seen is that for some reason the lights don't always turn on manually after they have run through a routine on a timer. It can be worked around by changing the scene, but I'm not sure of the reason. Setup does take quite a while as it downloads and installs to each strip separately. Overall a good product with customization options.

If you haven't purchased anything from hue yet...these are a must! So many funthings you can do with these. I bought two sets and wrapped them around the base of my white Christmas tree. It glows! Get creative with your lighting
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a no brainier if you have the Philips Hue system already. I put this light strip in between my bed and the wall and it added a really nice effect to my bedroom with all the different colors it can produce. It has adhesive all along the bottom of it making it easy to install. These can also be linked together to cover longer lengths or cut down for a custom application. I'm buying a bunch of these for my house!

Q: QuestionHow does it get power? Does it have batteries and come with a charger?
Asked by Maria.
- A:Answer It plugs into a standard wall outlet and Is controlled by the Philips Hue light bridge
Answered by ImmerseMe
Q: QuestionCan you cut the strip in 2 and still use both of the strips you cut?
Asked by Henry.
- A:Answer NO YOU CANNOT.. once you cut it, you're done with the end you cut off. There are marks WHERE you can cut, but the piece cut off is trash.. They also sell 3' extenders you can add to the standard 6' strips. But at the cost, I'd avoid cutting anything.. $90 a pop is a lot of money to throw away..

Q: QuestionI want these to go on each side of my bed. 1 strip (6'6'') will work for each side but only have Outlets on one side of the bed. Will the cord reach to the other side of the bed (roughly 5-6ft) so I don't have useless sets/extensions underneath?
Asked by Beau.
- A:Answer If you have basic electronic skills try to use a CAT 5 cable to connect them together so you only have to use the extensions rather than two of these. For example, get one 2m strip to run one side of the bed then use CAT 5 cable to run to the other side and then connect two 1m extensions on the other side. Look up a you tube video on how to connect them using a soldering gun. I did this setup through my kitchen cabinets. Ran one 2m strip on the top of my cabinets then CAT 5 cable through the side of the cabinets and then three 1m extensions on the bottom of the cabinets. Good luck!

Q: QuestionEdits to previous question submitted: Kitchen remodel - Under Cabinet Lighting. Will my electrician be able to hardwire these under my cabinets to a single point/switch so I don't have to have the mini ballast that comes with it?
Asked by Annie.
- A:Answer The electrician needs to install an outlet hidden away either in a cabinet or above the cabinets. From this outlet location Run 1 - Cat5 cable to each under cabinet section. Get an "RJ45 Ethernet Cable Adapter for Philips Hue Lightstrip" from Amazon. All of the bulky stuff gets hidden away in or on top of the cabinets and all you will have under the cabinets is the light strip.

Q: QuestionHow do I tell if the Lightstrip is the new model, with the better LEDS, or the old model?
Asked by Nanci.
- A:Answer The new model is the Philips Hue Light Strip Plus. If you don't see the Plus at the end of the name, then it's the original model. Hope this helps.

Q: QuestionIs this led light kit a good option for lighting a display cabinet of collectibles ?
Asked by JG53Jeff.
- A:Answer Don't know if you've gotten an answer on this, but I purchased this and a few extensions for my bar. It lights up beautifully. Just know you have to have a plug in close and a place to hide the cord. I would recommend this over any bulky lighting or single lights. the LED strip hides perfectly on the interior of my bar. People think the lights were built in.

Q: QuestionCan you use two 6' light strips together? Also can you program with an Android phone or does it have to be iPhone?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes, the second generation strips have ends that can attach to each other. You can add a 6 foot strip to another 6' strip or to a 3' strip. Make sure you are buying second generation light strips and have the second generation bridge.

Q: QuestionI attached this light strip to my tv but want to move the strip. Will this light strip detach and reattach to a new spot? Anyone have experience with moving their light strip?
Asked by Krista.
- A:Answer If you remove all strip covers in the back to attach initially you may not able to reattach since glue strip may won’t come out. If that’s the case you may apply something else to hold it. I usually remove few strip covers in case if I change my mind to reposition it.
