What is Black Friday?
Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving, which falls on November 27th this year. It is one of the busiest shopping days of the year and the official start to the holiday shopping season. Retailers often open at 5 a.m. or earlier and offer discounts, promotions and coupons to help drive up sales. Black Friday has become so popular that it has spawned websites like TGIblackfriday and mobile apps dedicated to helping consumers shop smarter.
Why is using this site better then reading the sale circulars on Thanksgiving?
For starters, we typically have the sales posted up to three weeks earlier than they are released in the Thanksgiving day newspaper. Our site adds valuable extra information to sale items such as competitor price comparisons, user comments and similar related products. We also provide a link to buy the items online if they're available on Black Friday or earlier. The site also allows you to create a personal shopping list to help plan your shopping strategy. Our powerful iPhone and Android app is like having every newspaper sale circular in your pocket while shopping on Black Friday. TGI Black Friday will help you shop smarter and faster, guaranteed.
What is a Doorbuster or Early Bird Deal?
A doorbuster is a early morning deal that is available for only the first few hours of Black Friday or until sold out. These deals are used to get customers in the store. They are the sale items that shoppers will tend to camp out for overnight. If you're looking to score a hot doorbuster or early bird special it's best to arrive very early because quantities are usually limited.
Does TGI Black Friday have a mobile app?
Yes! we created an app for both iPhone and Android phone users. The app was well received with great praise and was downloaded over 1 million times last November. The app was named "App of the Week" by the New York Times and was featured by Apple as a holiday shopping favorite. For more information and a list of cool features visit the TGI Black Friday App page.
Are Black Friday deals only available in-store?
Some deals are only available in-store. However, in recent years we have seen may retailers offer some of the products online as well. A recent trend has been to offer some of the Black Friday sale items online the day before on Thanksgiving. You can check our site to find the products and deals that will be offered both online and in-store.
Can you add my favorite store?
Currently we add Black Friday deals for over 90 stores . If an ad leaks we will generally add it to the site ASAP. However, due to time and staff constraints we can't always add deals for smaller locally based stores. If you find a store that you think we should have send us an email and we will do our best.
How do you receive the Black Friday Ads early?
Black Friday ads are leaked in various places such as online forums and message boards. We also receive ads early from users like you via email. In recent years retailers have even begun sending Black Friday ads to us directly.
What is Cyber Monday?
Cyber Monday is the Monday after Black Friday. Online stores promote Cyber Monday to try and continue the hype generated from Black Friday. Employees back from the holiday break go online in great numbers on Cyber Monday. The prices are generally not as good as Black Friday, however, you can avoid the crowds and still can find some great bargains.
Should I sign up for the TGI Black Friday newsletter?
What additional site features do you recommend using?
We recommend trying the "Shopping List" feature. Next to every sale product you can click the "Add to Shopping List" button. This feature allows you to create and print a personal shopping list to help organize your holiday shopping. We also recommend browsing the product pages for extra information and our price comparisons with other online stores. These price comparisons with competing stores can be helpful as some items are actually cheaper and available now.
Are all the prices confirmed and guaranteed?
We can not guarantee that all prices are 100% accurate. However, we do our best to verify the legitimacy of early, leaked ads. Several retailers have started working with us by sending the circulars to us directly. Everything you see on this site is entered by hand, so occasionally we will make a mistake. We recommend that you download the store adscans to verify accuracy if you think a price is too good to be true.
